Job Title: Safety Electronics Engineer

Pat rate: PAYE Max: £34.85 LTD Max: £42.77

Duration: End date: 12/12/2025 - Possible extension

Location: Pyms Lane, Crewe CW1 3PL

Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, Hybrid - 3 days onsite, Bentley Core Hours

Position Overview:
In this exciting role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the EKV3 Vehicle Safety team. Your expertise will be essential in delivering Safety Electronics systems and components, ensuring they meet the highest Bentley standards and program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Technical Initiatives: Take charge of Safety Electronics specifications, applications, documentation, testing, and sign-off processes. Your technical acumen will ensure that all project deliverables are met with excellence.
Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones. Your organizational skills will be key in managing these relationships.
Cross-Collaboration: Work closely with VW Group colleagues to share insights and define future requirements. Your ability to communicate effectively will foster strong teamwork.
Stay Informed: Keep abreast of the latest legislative and technical developments in Safety Electronics. Your proactive approach will contribute to continuous improvement.
Support Functions: Provide expert guidance to non-engineering teams within the organization on Safety Electronics topics.

What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

A solid Electronics background with a relevant Engineering degree (Electronics or Mechatronics).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information clearly.
Hands-on experience with vehicle communications/architecture (FlexRay, CAN & LIN) and familiarity with diagnostic tools (VAS/IDEX/ODIS).
Strong coordination and organizational skills to keep projects on track.
Proven ability to work independently on validation tasks both on vehicles and lab cars, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
Experience in Safety Electronics development within the automotive sector or as a supplier to OEMs, aerospace, or military.
A flexible team player who can engage with various levels of the organization.
Familiarity with Bentley systems and processes, as well as knowledge of the systems engineering V model for electrical system development.
German language proficiency is a plus!
