We are a large primary school with 630 pupils and over 100 staff. The school is warm, friendly and welcoming and the staff team works closely together to support all of our pupils.
We currently have a new opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Apprentice Teaching Partner (Early Years).
This is a fixed term appointment for 31.67 hours per week until completion of the Apprenticeship (minimum 15 months) for 38 weeks per year, inclusive of 28 days holiday entitlement. The initial hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.20pm. 20% of your working week will be spent undertaking training for your Apprenticeship.
Your starting salary will be £8.00 per hour until your first 9 months have been successfully completed at which point you will move to the Kent Range KSA rate.
Duties
1. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Headteacher, SEND Manager and class teachers.
2. Assist in the implementation of learning programmes for pupils and help assess, monitor and record their progress.
3. Provide support for individual pupils inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities.
4. Work with parents/carers, other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, as necessary.
5. Assist class teachers with maintaining pupil records.
6. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
7. Provide one to one support for pupils with specific difficulties as required.
8. Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as required and assist with the development of hygiene, toilet training and general dressing programmes.
Administrative Duties
9. Prepare and present learning resources to support pupil learning.
10. Support class teachers in preparation of differentiation and other tasks in order to support teaching.
11. Undertake other duties from time to time as the headteacher requires.

12. Support the aims and ethos of the school.
13. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
14. Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
15. Attend team and staff meetings as required.
16. Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety.
17. Undertake professional duties that may be reasonably assigned by the headteacher.
