Job Description:

* THE ROLE IS FULLY REMOTE MOST OF THE TIME, WITH A REQUIREMENT TO VISIT BRISTOL ONCE A MONTH FOR A TEAM MEETING (please only apply if you are able).

* YOU MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR MARKETING AGENCIES (either in-house or as a client).
REPORTS TO: Reporting directly to the company owner.
The Client Financial Controller will oversee finance operations for a portfolio of clients, lead and develop the internal finance team, and collaborate with clients to provide strategic financial insights and guidance. The role involves setting internal procedures, supervising financial operations, and ensuring high-quality financial services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Client Financial Operations & Reporting:
* Manage daily financial operations, including invoicing, payroll, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
* Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other monthly accounting adjustments.
* Prepare management accounts with commentary.
* Work with client department heads to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
* Advise clients and suggest process improvements.
* Attend meetings with clients' leadership teams and stakeholders, presenting financial reports and insights.
* Meet all reporting deadlines and complete month-end processes promptly.
2. Internal Control and Processes:
* Establish and maintain reliable financial procedures and scalable systems.
* Coordinate with outsourced partners on bookkeeping, accounts, and tax returns.
* Supervise VAT returns, payroll, and month-end close.
* Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Other Responsibilities:
* Recruit, mentor, and develop the finance team.
* Collaborate with external accountants and client teams.
* Focus on succession planning.
* Lead and motivate the financial team.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
* Build relationships with clients and teams.
* Engage, motivate, and challenge team members.
