Astrophysics, Department of Physics, Denys Wilkinson Building, Keble Road, Oxford, OX1 3RH Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Galaxy evolution with MIGHTEE and the new spectroscopic surveys with 4MOST and MOONS - 184046 Grade 7: £39,424 -£47,779 per annum Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Galaxy evolution with MIGHTEE and the new spectroscopic surveys with 4MOST and MOONS. This is a 2-year postdoctoral position funded through the UKRI Frontier Research Grant of Professor Matthew Jarvis. The role is flexible in terms of the scientific focus but the successful candidate will work within the MIGHTEE core team in Oxford. The position will require a good working knowledge of radio interferometric observational techniques and/or a good understanding of optical spectroscopic survey data to understand galaxy formation and evolution. Experience or an interest in developing advanced statistical techniques in the analysis of these data would also be beneficial. The post-holder will have the opportunity to teach. Applicants should hold PhD in Physics, Astrophysics (or close to completion) or a related field. The post is full time and fixed term for 2 years. The start date for the position can be no later than 1 October 2026.
