Clinical/Forensic Psychologist
Are you looking to establish your career in Forensic Mental Health and care provision, or perhaps seeking a change? The North London Forensic Service is recruiting Clinical or Forensic Psychologists to join us.
We have funding for one WTE Band 7 Psychologist role but would consider Band 6 applicants nearing qualification. Full-time or part-time applications are welcome. Flexible and hybrid working options are available, with the primary base at Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield, and trust community bases.
Due to new developments within the service, we seek enthusiastic clinical or forensic psychologists to provide psychological input across various pathways.
The forensic service covers inpatients (Medium, Low, and Learning Disability wards) and community services across five boroughs: Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Islington, and Camden.
The successful candidates will support psychological interventions within a multidisciplinary team, leading psychological delivery, including highly specialist assessments and interventions, supervision, training, and reflective practice for psychology staff and clinicians.
Main duties of the job
The post involves providing assessments and interventions as part of a multidisciplinary team, including direct clinical work, consultation, and training.
The ethos is based on recovery and enablement. Strong communication skills are essential to engage with agencies, colleagues, and service users, often conveying complex or sensitive information. Supervision of junior staff will also be part of the role.
This role would be a good fit if:
* You enjoy working with individuals who have experienced trauma and are interested in trauma-informed principles.
* You can provide specialist consultation on complex cases involving risks to self and others.
* You value clinical autonomy but work well within a multidisciplinary team.
* You seek to expand your experience in mental health, trauma-informed practices, and research.
* You wish to work in a large psychology team with extensive experience.
Interview is expected to be during the week commencing 19th May 2025.
