Architectural Technician

We’re working with a well-established organisation with a strong UK development pipeline, now seeking an Architectural Technician to help deliver concept design, feasibility work, and planning submissions for a range of purpose-built projects nationwide.

The Role
As an Architectural Technician, you will assist in producing concept designs, feasibility studies, and planning documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and creativity across early-stage project development. You will work closely with planners, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to support the delivery of well-coordinated design information.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, managing multiple workstreams, and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing feasibility studies, conceptual layouts, and early-stage design proposals
* Applying knowledge of UK building regulations and planning processes
* Producing and supporting planning submissions, including drawings, models, and supporting material
* Assessing site opportunities and constraints using survey data and technical standards
* Coordinating with internal and external professionals to support integrated design solutions
* Identifying and resolving design challenges with practical, cost-effective options
* Ensuring adherence to CDM Regulations, health & safety requirements, and the Building Safety Act
* Contributing to ongoing team development and best practice
About You
We’re looking for a technically capable and motivated individual who works accurately, communicates well, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
You will have:
* A degree or relevant qualification in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a similar field
* Experience within architectural design or the wider built environment (typically 2–5+ years)
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and associated design tools
* Understanding of UK planning processes and building standards
* Strong organisational skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
