Qualified Social Worker – Children in Care
Location: North East
Pay Rate: £29 per hour

Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Were working with a forward-thinking local authority in the North East, looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Children in Care team. What you’ll be doing:
* Managing a capped caseload of 18, giving you time to focus on quality over quantity
* Building strong, meaningful relationships with children, families and professionals
* Carrying out Child & Family Assessments with clarity, empathy, and purpose
* Supporting children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, pre-proceedings, and court
* Delivering high-quality care planning and direct work to improve long-term outcomes
* Ensuring all interventions are strengths-based, inclusive, and culturally competent
* Working closely with a supportive Team Manager and enjoying regular supervision
* Balancing office, field, and home-based working to suit your needs
What we’re looking for:
* Registered with Social Work England
* Minimum 2 years’ post-qualified experience working with children & families
* Experience in Children in Care, Child Protection, and Court work
* A confident communicator and compassionate practitioner
* Able to demonstrate effective risk assessment, planning, and review
* Knowledgeable in key legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004
* A collaborative team player who thrives in a multi-agency setting
* Someone who’s committed to continuous improvement and child-centred practice
