Job Title: Assistant Team Manager (Part-time) Location: Gateshead, UK Hours: 18.5 hours per week Salary: £20 - £26 per hour (depending on experience) Gateshead Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join their Fostering team part-time. The Role is for an Assistant team manager to work 18.5 hours a week as maternity cover. You'll be part of a supportive and dynamic team environment, where your passion and expertise will be valued and put to meaningful use. Responsibilities: Assist the Team Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fostering team. Support the recruitment, assessment, and training of foster carers. Provide guidance and supervision to social workers within the team. Participate in case management meetings and contribute to decision-making processes. Conduct regular reviews of foster placements to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people. Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to coordinate services and support for foster families. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance service delivery. Support the Team Manager in managing budgets and resources effectively. Qualifications: Registered with Social work England A Degree in Social work or Diploma in SW, CQSW, CSS Right to Work UK Enhanced DBS check, dated within the last 12 months Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a social care setting Flexibility to work part-time hours Relevant experience in fostering or child protection.
