Payroll Manager Central London (Permanent Role)

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Payroll Manager to join our team in Central London. This is a permanent opportunity to lead and manage all aspects of payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage four–weekly payroll cycles with a focus on accuracy and validation.
* Be the main point of contact for payroll queries from employees and line managers.
* Perform gross–to–net calculations, including statutory payments (SMP, SSP, etc.).
* Act as the subject matter expert on payroll legislation and compliance.
* Maintain delegated authority protocols and specimen signature lists.
* Oversee the relationship with Midland HR (iTrent), ensuring system efficiency.
* Work closely with HR on pay awards, harmonisation, bonuses, and organisational changes.
* Lead the tax year–end process, including P11D production.
* Calculate and process maternity and paternity pay.
* Liaise with HMRC to resolve queries and ensure timely PAYE/NI payments.
* Prepare weekly payroll cashflows for Treasury and highlight variances.
* Submit monthly payroll data to the Office for National Statistics.
* Provide timely reporting to HR, Finance, and management.
* Notify Treasury of AVC payments for RPMI.
* Prepare the annual Gender Pay Report.
* Manage bonus payments and pay uplifts across staff grades.

What We Re Looking For
* Proven experience in payroll management, ideally in a complex or unionised setting.
* Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
* Proficiency in payroll systems, especially iTrent.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* High attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
