This is a support secretarial role based in our Neonatal department at Royal Preston Hospital Fulwood Preston.
You will work closely with our dedicated neonatal consultants as well as our nurses, supporting in an administrative capacity across the team.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible to support our Neonatal consultants, which consist of a team of 9 and our dedicated nurses. Your tasks will consist of the following administrative duties
1. Typing and formatting clinical letters, discharge summaries, and reports
2. Managing correspondence (emails, letters, phone calls) for consultants and clinical teams
3. Maintaining accurate patient records and filing systems (both paper and electronic)
4. Booking appointments, meetings, and managing diaries for neonatal consultants or teams
5. Minute taking for discharge meetings
6. Overseeing the room bookings
7. Ad Hoc duties

Person specification
Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
15. Good general education. Minimum GCSE English and Mathematics grade A-C
16. Typing speed of 60 wpm
17. RSA 2 or equivalent
18. ECDL or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
19. RSA 3 Typing Qualification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
20. Efficient use of Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and intranet
21. Recent audio typing experience
22. Demonstrate a commitment to continuing personal and professional development
23. Experienced and competent minute taking
24. Basic knowledge of medical terminology
Desirable criteria
25. Previous admin experience within NHS environment
26. Use of Trust IT packages ie Quadramed, Alma, Evolve
27. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology
