Job Title: Control Room Technician (Rotating Shifts) Location: Enniskillen Excellent Pay rate and 20% Shift allowance for Nights Rotational Shifts (monthly) Dayshift: Monday to Thursday: 7.00am to 4.30pm; Friday: 7.00am to 11.00am Nightshift: Monday to Wednesday: 6.00pm to 5.00am; Thursday: 6.00pm to 3.00am Purpose of the Role The Control Room Technician supports the CAE Mill operations team by setting up production runs, monitoring processes, and ensuring the correct volume and quality of timber products are produced. This role involves working in the control room to oversee multiple production screens, troubleshoot technical or quality issues, and help maintain smooth shift operations in coordination with the Mill Supervisor. Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Promote a culture of safety, responsibility, and compliance. Follow all health and safety policies and procedures. Identify and act on opportunities to improve workplace safety. Production & Control Room Operations Set up and manage production runs across various control stations. Follow the weekly production plan to meet output targets. Monitor KPI and quality control screens, making adjustments as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve system or software issues (e.g., reboot, recalibrate scanners). Maintain scanning accuracy and ensure machinery operates efficiently. Quality Control Monitor timber quality, identifying and correcting issues such as saw marks or alignment problems. Report any quality issues with incoming logs to the forestry team. Skills & Requirements Minimum 2 A-Levels or a Technical Qualification in Engineering or IT. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent planning, organisation, and attention to detail.
