Sheffield City Council’s Transport Services are looking for a skilled and motivated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our dedicated and professional team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern, fully equipped workshop environment, maintaining a diverse fleet that supports vital services across the city.
About the role
You will be responsible for the inspection, servicing and repair of Sheffield City Council’s wide range of vehicles, including LGVs, minibuses and cars. Working to high technical and safety standards, you’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet reliable, roadworthy and compliant.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be an organised, flexible and proactive technician who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering excellent customer service. You will be willing to participate in a rotating shift pattern and a breakdown recovery service, ensuring our vehicles remain operational when they are needed most.
Hours and working pattern
1. 37 hours per week
2. Rotating shifts: 6.00am–2.00pm and 10.00am–6.00pm
3. Any additional hours worked are paid in addition to your standard hours
Essential requirements
4. Time-served technician with a minimum of 3 years’ workshop experience
5. City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
6. Full UK driving licence
