Job Description – Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

Shift Pattern: Weekdays and Weekends | 8–12 Hour Shifts | Daytime
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) to join our team within a busy Urgent Care Centre. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals presenting with a wide range of urgent and unscheduled health needs. This role requires strong clinical decision-making skills, autonomous practice, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a variety of urgent and unscheduled conditions.
* Undertake clinical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and initiate appropriate treatments.
* Prescribe medication safely and appropriately (V300 qualification required).
* Provide care to patients of all ages with both minor injuries and minor illnesses.
* Make onward referrals to secondary care or community services where appropriate.
* Ensure accurate documentation in patient records in line with clinical governance and confidentiality standards.
* Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe and effective care.
* Contribute to service efficiency by helping to reduce pressure on emergency departments and support patient flow.
Requirements
* Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN.
* Master's degree or equivalent in Advanced Clinical Practice.
* Independent Prescriber (V300).
* Proven experience working as an ANP in urgent care, primary care, or emergency settings.
* Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to work independently and under pressure.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
