Fostering Social Worker – South West
Role type: Temporary agency basis, hybrid working with an immediate start. Salary: £35-£45 per hour, depending on experience. Part time or full time hours available. The role focuses on supporting foster carers and children with complex needs, with emphasis on safeguarding, compliance, and achieving positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Supervising and supporting foster carers to ensure high-quality care for children and young people
* Completing complex fostering assessments and reviews to inform decision-making
* Producing high-quality analytical reports for the fostering panel and other stakeholders
* Presenting to the fostering panel to provide expert advice on foster care placements
* Supporting placements for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring safety and well-being
* Ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and child protection
* Participating in an out-of-hours/on-call rota to provide emergency support and guidance to foster carers
Location and Working Pattern
* Hybrid working arrangement with regular attendance (weekly or fortnightly) at the hub based in Bristol
* Travel across the South West, including Bristol, BANES, North Somerset, Somerset, Swindon, and South Gloucestershire
* Some travel to more remote locations; own transport is essential
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* Minimum 2 years\' post-qualifying experience in a related field
* Fostering experience preferred but not essential
* Strong assessment, report writing, and IT skills; ability to work independently and manage a small caseload
* Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and work flexibly to meet service needs
