Description Cornwall Airport Newquay are currently seeking an Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) to join their highly skilled and professional team. The successful candidate will be required to work shifts in busy class G airspace with a mixture of different types of aircraft. Qualifications The following qualifications and experience are essential: UK ADI / APS and APP Rating (Single ratings, Student licences and applicants who are planning / booked to commence ATC training maybe be considered) Financial assistance maybe available to candidates subject to conditions. UK CAA Class 3 Medical certificate. Full UK Driving Licence. Ability to work as part of a small team & maintain a flexible attitude in relation to shift hours & operational requirements. Work Well Under Pressure The following qualifications and experience are desirable: Met Observer Certificate UK OJTI Licence endorsement UK Assessor Endorsement Experience working in Class G airspace General IT skills using Microsoft Office or similar What you will be doing To provide Aerodrome, Approach and Approach Radar services to aircraft inbound and outbound from Newquay Airport as appropriate to ratings held. To provide the appropriate level of service (Basic, Traffic, Procedural or Deconfliction) to aircraft transiting the Newquay area and in surrounding airspace in accordance with ratings held. To alert and liaise with airport and external emergency services as required by the Emergency Plan. To comply with CAA and airport management reporting procedures and to compile and maintain administrative records as required. Where suitably qualified, to observe, compile, check and disseminate meteorological data. Where suitably qualified, provide OJT supervision of student and trainee controllers. To carry out aerodrome surface inspections at the opening of watch, before nightfall and at other times as necessary. To be aware of and adhere to applicable rules, regulations, legislation and procedures which are governed by Cornwall Airport Ltd. To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department. To be responsible for your own self development, undertaking training as appropriate. To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post, as required. Successful candidates will be required to complete a Counter Terrorism Check and a five-year background check.
