Laboratory Technician Apprentice (Level 3) - Cormica

Department: Science Apprenticeship - Chemistry L3

Location: Bradford

Compensation: £19,500 - £23,810 / year

Description: Cormica Bradford Ltd is a GMP/GLP accredited specialist contract research laboratory (CRO), with over 25 years’ experience in delivering high quality analytical and laboratory support to the pharmaceutical, medical device, agrochemical, biocide/pesticide, chemical and other industry sectors.

Cormica is a unique name that has a special meaning behind it. The name is a combination of three Latin words that describe the company’s focus and expertise: corporalis, micro, and chemica.

The name Cormica reflects the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive and innovative testing solutions to the medical device industry.

Cormica’s mission is to improve patients’ lives by providing comprehensive testing services, enabling clients to launch and release their products safely and rapidly across the world.


The Package

At Tiro, we make great things happen for people. And that starts with you. In this role you’ll receive:

* Starting salary of £19,500 - £23,809.50 per year (dependent on age)
* 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
* 37.5 hours per week
* Monday to Friday, 8:00AM - 4:00PM

What will I be doing as an apprentice?

Cormica is pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to earn both a salary and to study towards a nationally recognised qualification through our apprenticeship programme.

As an apprentice, you'll work as part of the team who are responsible for ensuring Cormica Bradford has an appropriate Quality Assured working environment for its employees and activities. The role focusses on supporting the Facilities and Operations teams with the day-to-day running of the laboratories, particularly with regard to calibrations, performance verifications, chemical and samples stores support, and laboratory administration.

* Supporting the Operations team with laboratory-focussed tasks (calibrations, chemical and sample store support, and similar).
* Working with the Facilities team to complete with daily, monthly, quarterly and annual laboratory housekeeping and administration duties.
* Responding to ad hoc requests for assistance in the laboratories and stores.

So how does the apprenticeship work?

Over 18 months, you’ll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on ‘off the job’ training. This can include theory training (for example, virtual lessons & online learning), alongside practical training (for example shadowing, mentoring, & time spent writing assignments.
