Job Purpose The main aim of this role is to closely work with new and existing businesses/employers to target, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of opportunities including; work experience, work placements, recruitment workshops, apprenticeships, work trials, and employment opportunities for Working Denbighshire participants. As part of the overall Working Denbighshire Strategy, you will be required to ensure the achievement of employment opportunities in sufficient numbers to meet our ambitious delivery targets. Working within the Working Denbighshire Employer and Training team the Employment Coordinator will develop effective interagency, multidisciplinary and whole sector relationships to promote and represent the work of the Service internally and with all external partner agencies in order to identify employer/businesses needs and be responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing a range of employer engagement initiatives in order to help meet these objectives. Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities Develop approaches to target and promote the Working Denbighshire Service by engaging and liaising with local employers/businesses to develop new and existing employment opportunities and ensure their sustainability. Act as a key point of contact with employers/businesses, and positively influence attitudes in the workplace to recruitment and equal opportunities in order to identify opportunities to which participants can be matched. Use labour market information, research and feedback from employers to inform priority setting within Working Denbighshire, that ensures local business needs and the needs of participants are aligned. Proactively engage, develop and nurture close working relationships with a wide range of employers in different industries and sectors. Negotiate commitments from employers to provide a broad range of work opportunities including work placements, volunteering, work trials and employment opportunities to complement the equally broad range of strengths and skills of our citizens. Advise and signpost employers/businesses to other support agencies where appropriate. Work closely with wider Working Denbighshire team to help prepare participants for the world of work ensuring their awareness of the expectations and requirements of employers e.g. pre-screening, and interview preparation activities, challenge their perception of the world of work. Demonstrate empathy and understanding of the range of issues and barriers faced by the citizens of Denbighshire who are in poverty or at risk of being in poverty. Work with employers and our Training Coordinator to ensure the development and delivery of sector routeway programs that include the delivery of appropriate training packages to meet employers? needs and work placements and employment opportunities as part of the program. Be responsible for identifying and coordinating the onsite work experience and recruitment element of the sector routeways. Develop and implement of an exciting programme of Jobs Fairs, Careers events and employer activities. To work in partnership with agencies and stakeholders to develop and deliver activities which deliver agreed outcomes. comprehensive pre-placement Health & Safety document is completed by a Working Denbighshire Employer Coordinator before any placement agreements are made to ensure employers can demonstrate that they comply with relevant health and safety legislation. Complete comprehensive Health & Safety agreements and risk assessments forms with employers, businesses and organisations to demonstrate that they comply with relevant health and safety legislation. You will be an adept organiser, who can identify ways to meet targets, manage workload and keep information systems up to date. Gather evidence from employers in respect of gaps and needs and other sources to demonstrate interview, job entry, sustainable employment, self-employment, etc. Maintain detailed records of work and prescribed filing in accordance with the Working Denbighshire monitoring framework and necessary data requirements of UK and Welsh Government, DCC an any other relevant funding bodies. Always maintain a confidential service that ensures that all personal data is effectively protected and handled, within locally agreed Information Sharing Protocol and relevant data protection law. Prepare written reports, presentations and updates where required. Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience The post holder must have the ability to establish positive working relationships with a wide range of partners, organisations, businesses and employers in both the public and private sectors. Must be able to demonstrate good commercial awareness and an understanding of the importance of behaviours and attitude in the workplace. Must be proactive and innovative and have the ability to influence employers to offer a range of work opportunities including work experience placements, work trials and employment opportunities. Demonstrate empathy and an understanding of the range of issues and barriers faced by citizens who are unemployed, and have the ability to empower citizens to maximize their potential. Experience of working with employers and businesses to proactively generate new business leads and manage those relationships. Knowledge of the area covered by the Project (Denbighshire) is desirable, including the resources available in relation to employment. Experience of joint working with statutory, voluntary and private agencies and an understanding of working within confidentiality and data protection policies and regulation. An understanding of performance management and monitoring processes. Ability to work well as part of a team and work on own initiative providing support to a range of services with a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise workload. The post holder must work to the Working Denbighshire lone worker policy and be aware of challenges lone working can present. They must be an excellent communicator and demonstrate good verbal and non-verbal communication skills along with good presentation skills and demonstrate diplomacy and excellent negotiation skills. Must be able to meet challenges with a positive attitude and be keen to learn and develop new skills and have the ability to motivate and develop others, doing with rather than for.
