SEMH Teaching Assistant – Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire. Salary: £90-£100 per day. Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (Term Time Only). Start Date: ASAP or September 2025. Agency: The Education Network - Leeds.
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people across Leeds? The Education Network Leeds is recruiting dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in specialist provisions and inclusive mainstream schools across the city.
Responsibilities
* Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with SEMH needs.
* Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
* Build trusting relationships to support emotional regulation and engagement.
* Assist teachers with tailored lesson plans and classroom activities.
* Encourage a safe, supportive learning environment.
Requirements
* Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or vulnerable young people (in education, care, or youth settings).
* Calm, resilient and compassionate approach to behaviour management.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A valid, enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).
* Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach) is a bonus but not essential.
