The Front-end Development team at Digital Platform has an opening for a Lead Software engineer role. As a Front-end developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of the Salt Design System. We leverage the latest UI technologies to deliver the maximum value to our stakeholders.
The Salt design System is the next generation UI Toolkit for CIB mercial & Investment Bank). It provides aprehensive set of core UIponents that can be used by different lines of business to create reusable patterns for their business applications. Theseponents and guidelines are designed to accelerate application design and development, while ensuring consistency and accessibility (WCAG through stable design foundations.
Job responsibilities
1. Lead the development and maintain high-quality Reactponents/patterns for the Salt Design System.
2. Collaborate with designers to implement UI designs and ensure consistency across our digital products.
3. Work closely with product managers, stakeholders and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
4. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following best practices and coding standards.
5. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development, and actively contribute to the improvement of our development processes and tools.
7. Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
8. Led the creation or maintains a multi-tenant enterprise design system at scale
9. Existing proficiency in React, Typescript and JavaScript.
10. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive web design.
11. Familiarity with modern front-end development tools and libraries ( esbuild, rollup, vite).
12. Knowledge of version control systems (, Git) and collaborative development workflows.
13. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
14. Strongmunication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
15. Emerging knowledge, opinion and of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
16. A strong understanding of UI accessibility concerns
17. Knowledge of open source design systems
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
18. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies ( NextJS, Remix)
19. Existing open source contributor or library maintainer
20. Asynchronous operations in Javascript (maybe using libraries such as Axios, RxJS)
21. Familiarity with solving UI state management forponents
22. Clean Code advocate
23. Figma plugin development
24. Familiarity with one of JPM's existing design languages (UITK, MDS)
