Salary/Benefits: Between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum DOE and Qualifications; 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays; Teacher’s pension; Retail and Leisure Discounts; professional and personal development opportunities.

About The Role
We are currently seeking a Teacher of A Level English to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* A Level English Teaching – Delivers engaging and high-quality lessons in at least one English A Level specialism, fostering curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
* Student Progress & Support – Assesses and tracks student development, provides feedback, and contributes to retention and success targets through personalised support and progress reporting.
* Curriculum & Enrichment – Actively contributes to curriculum development and organises extracurricular activities such as trips, guest speakers, and enrichment events.
* College Engagement – Participates in open evenings, promotional events, exam invigilation, and cross-campus meetings, supporting the wider Sixth Form and College community.
* Compliance & Development – Upholds safeguarding, EDI, and health and safety standards, while engaging in ongoing training and professional development.
About You
* Qualifications & Teaching Experience – Holds a relevant degree and teaching qualification (e.g. Certificate in Education), with current experience teaching A Level in a Sixth Form or FE setting and a strong track record of student success.
* Subject Knowledge & Pedagogy – Demonstrates up-to-date subject expertise, effective use of ILT in teaching, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, inclusive learning experiences.
* Professional Skills & Values – Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work flexibly, meet deadlines, and uphold the values of student success, integrity, and continuous improvement.
* Teamwork & Leadership – Works collaboratively within teams, contributes positively to the Sixth Form community, and supports a culture of high standards and mutual respect.
* Safeguarding & Development – Committed to safeguarding, equality, and health and safety, with a willingness to travel, adapt to changing demands, and engage in ongoing professional development.
