Behaviour Specialist - SEMH Focus

Location:Derby, UK
Salary: £100-£180 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Perm
Start Date:8th September

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Specialist to join our dynamic team at a SEN school renowned for its commitment to supporting students with SEMH needs. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive learning environment and implementing effective behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement personalised behaviour support plans for students with SEMH needs.

* Provide one-on-one and group interventions to address behavioural challenges and promote positive outcomes.

* Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.

* Monitor and record student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.

* Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing educational environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Proven experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviours, particularly within an SEMH or SEN setting.

* Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and their practical application in educational contexts.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.

* Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable.

* Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
