Job Overview
Band 5 Nurse role in York CAMHS, focused on working with children, young people and their families in mental health. Provide care as part of a large clinical team, act as a Key Worker and point of contact for families; guide their recovery journey and support risk assessment while maintaining a professional, caring approach in challenging circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Key Worker for families, ensuring continuity and support throughout their recovery journey.
* Assess and manage risks and provide clinical support to the wider clinical team.
* Deliver appropriate nursing care to children, young people and families dealing with mental health difficulties.
* Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective communication and partnership working.
* Maintain a professional and compassionate approach under difficult or challenging circumstances.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Band 5 Nurse.
* Specialism in Mental Health, Children or Learning Disability (or similar).
* Completion of a recognised pre‑ceptorship programme – not open to newly registered nurses.
