Maintenance Project Manager role at Southampton City Council.

Southampton City Council is looking for a confident and self-motivated Project Manager to join the Contracts and Commercial Services team. You will support District and Area Estates Maintenance Managers within the Day-to-Day Repairs and Void Teams as well as contribute to wider strategic goals within service delivery.
About the role
You will be responsible for a £4m - £8m per annum contract, managing the Procured Contractor that carries out repairs and refurbishment to Southampton City Council housing properties, ensuring quality work is completed on time, within budget, and to KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
You will directly manage a Clerk of Works as well as the contract. You should understand and be able to interpret the policies and procedures underpinning service delivery within Housing Operations.
The successful candidate should be able to build effective working arrangements and partnerships with internal and external service providers, ensuring productivity levels are optimised across all areas of responsibility.
A practical understanding of the construction/property maintenance industry is essential. Additional knowledge/experience of CDM and Health and Safety policies is essential, along with a relevant building qualification (HNC / HND / or equivalent) and membership to APM or PMI or CIOB or similar.
The successful applicant must have a full clean driving licence. An Enhanced DBS check is required.
As the work is varied, a flexible approach is required to meet changing needs and tight deadlines. Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude are essential as you’ll be our ambassador when visiting customers’ homes to carry out quality control checks. You will liaise with residents, peers and colleagues daily, so communication and customer focus are essential. Organizational, customer service and time management skills are key.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £47,181 - £51,357. The starting salary is £47,181 with annual progression through the salary bands.
