We have an exciting opportunity for an Assurance Engineer to join the Water Distribution at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Water Distribution are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
The Assurance Engineer will provide expert retrospective analysis of supply interruption events to fully understand and articulate impact upon customers and compliance on the water network. Undertaking engineering and hydraulic analysis of event impacts and a critical analysis of incident response to help build both tactical and process controls to mitigate the risk of future failure.
The Assurance Engineer will carry out the Annual Performance Reporting process for supply interruptions, and enable the company to maintain a high level of assurance and compliance with the regulator. The role will deliver world class asset and operational excellence across YW assets, in pursuit of health and safety excellence; regulatory compliance; operational efficiency and business plan outperformance.
Where you fit in:
As our Assurance Engineer you will
* Ensure compliance with YW H&S Policy & Procedures, challenge compromises, and prioritize health and safety in managing Water Network incidents.
* Complete detailed network failure reports with hydraulic and engineering analysis, including hydraulic calculations to understand property impact and event duration.
* Provide critical analysis of events to understand failures and identify opportunities for improvement in incident response.
* Prepare and present detailed documents outlining event impacts, interventions, actions taken, and hydraulic calculations to report customer minutes lost.
* Ensure all documentation adheres to internal and external assurance frameworks.
* Apply detailed hydraulic calculations and undertake hydraulic modelling to drive operational improvements.
* Liaise with stakeholders across departments to ensure comprehensive analysis in Source to Tap processes.
* Identify and assess supply interruption risks through detailed hydraulic and risk analysis, potentially using hydraulic modelling tools.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Fully aware of H&S requirements related to water network operations, including working on the highway, confined spaces, and lone working.
* Full understanding of regulatory and service targets for Water Networks, with a dynamic grasp of analysis, performance, and risk.
* Knowledge and application of detailed hydraulic calculations and modelling to determine network failure impacts and mitigation activities.
* Awareness and understanding of the operation of all water network assets, including Treatment Works, Water Pumping Stations, Service Reservoirs, Trunk Mains, and Distribution Mains.
* Understanding of water quality issues caused by incorrect asset operation and condition.
* Proven track record in data analysis and manipulation, essential for interpreting and compiling data.
* Experienced in Yorkshire Water's corporate systems, including SAP, AI2, Odyssey, SRM, YorBill, ICE, Netbase, Halma, and RTNet.
* Detailed knowledge of the design and operation principles of potable water distribution network assets.
You will also benefit from having:
* User of Netbase
* Advanced user of excel
* Previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment
* Able to understand where your role fits within a Business Plan and develop ways to deliver the outputs required
* Experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours
* A minimum of, or to be working toward an HNC in an engineering or related qualification
