About the Role
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a number of RCM Engineers to support new business opportunities and existing product platforms, mainly fixed and rotor wing aircraft.
Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), a subsidiary of the Boeing Company, employs over 2,100 people in the UK. We deliver various contracts to UK defence customers, including new capabilities like the E-7 AEW&C and the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Autonomous Systems, C4ISR Services, and support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services, and Training Services. We are currently in a growth phase.
The engineering function operates in a matrix organization, delivering technical skills and products across departments. This role is within the Product Support Engineering Department, which includes areas such as:
* Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis
* Reliability and Maintainability
* Logistic Support Analysis
* Engineering Data Exploitation
* Obsolescence Management
* Technical Publications
* Integrated Logistic Support Engineering
As an RCM engineer, you will facilitate and implement RCM philosophies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will report to the Support Engineering Manager, with technical support from the RCM Technical Lead and other specialists.
Your responsibilities include:
* Conducting RCM analysis within scope, quality, and timescales
* Reviewing and processing change requests for continuous improvement
* Ensuring changes comply with standards
* Understanding customer requirements and advising on RCM best practices
* Providing management reports on progress (KPIs, close-out reports)
* Implementing and updating RCM tasks in relevant tools
* Maintaining and strengthening reliability foundations through a methodological approach
Additionally, you may support initiatives like quality improvements, safety culture, Diversity and Inclusion, mentoring, STEM outreach, and growth projects.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Engineer with a strong maintenance/engineering background
* Knowledge and experience with RCM or FMEA principles and practices
* Defense background is advantageous but not essential
* Experience with risk & reliability management systems and techniques
* Proven ability to drive first-time quality
* Understanding of Risk & Opportunity Management principles
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Word and Excel
* Relevant engineering qualifications or formal training in Support Engineering principles
The ability to obtain UK Security clearance is essential.
