Maths Teacher – St Philip’s School

Salary: Outer London Teachers Main Pay Scale: M1-M6: £37,870 - £50,474 / Upper Pay Scale UPR1-UPR5: £52,219 - £56,154, + SEN 1 £2,787.00

Location: St Philip’s School, Harrow Close KT9 2HR

Working Pattern: Full-time and Permanent

St Philip’s School is a special school offering places for pupils aged 9 to 19 with a wide range of abilities and additional needs, including complex autism.

Located in the Royal Borough of Kingston, on a spacious green site in Chessington, the school is equipped with extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities, vocational spaces, and a dedicated pupil support team offering a variety of therapies. We are proud to have recently opened a brand-new vocational block, expanding opportunities for students to develop practical skills in a modern, purpose-built environment.

Our small class sizes allow dedicated staff to support each pupil’s development at their own pace, whether they are following academic pathways or focusing on life skills.

The school is seeking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Teacher of Maths who is passionate about their subject and has the vision and energy to promote the highest standards of attainment, for young people with learning difficulties, across Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5.

Key Responsibilities:

· To teach Maths in the school, ensuring the best possible progress and outcomes for every individual and group of learners.

· To teach students individually, in groups, or classes, and ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.

· To maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.

· To contribute to constructive team building amongst teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and governors.

· To work in accordance with the requirements of the Teachers’ Standards, School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document and St Philip’s School’s Policies.

Key Requirements:

· A relevant bachelor’s degree

· Qualified Teacher Status

· Experience of teaching secondary aged students

· Experience of delivering recognised accreditations in Maths

· Good knowledge of the changes to the National Curriculum

· Be able to develop good working relationships across the whole range of school staff

· A commitment to promoting high standards of overall educational provision; including the academic, social and emotional aspects.
