Accounts Assistant - East Grinstead - 24 hours per week - Maternity cover - £15 per hour + holiday pay
I am currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant for my client in East Grinstead. This is a varied role working in a fun fast paced environment
Key Tasks and Activities
* General financial administrative support, such as inbox management, taking telephone calls/queries from clients, employees, suppliers, data entry, filing, photocopying, and document management.
* Manage the processing of our ledgers (sales and purchase) including resolving any queries and raising of invoices, making payments, reconciling statements
* Own the processing and payment of employee expenses, such as individual claims, credit cards, mileage.
* Assist with credit control, including taking payments, managing client credit accounts and applying for/maintaining credit insurance limits
* Administer our Weekly and monthly payrolls and associated payments. Including checking all calculations such as sick pay, family leave pay, holiday pay and allowances. Managing any queries accordingly and updating tax codes where necessary. Assist with the payroll year end activities. Inputting pensions submissions.
* Enter information accurately and prompt into our management information and accounting systems such as job costing, job monitoring, Xero
* Prepare/assist with CIS, PAYE, VAT returns under the supervision of Finance Manager.
* Complete daily bank reconciliation and make necessary payments (such as: to HMRC, Suppliers etc.)
* Assist with internal and external audits as required.

* Understanding of working according to internal financial practices and procedures.
* Ability to prepare a weekly and monthly payroll cycle for sign off by the Financial Manager
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
