About Get Lost

Get Lost is building a digital-first publishing company engineered around the operating logic of mobile game publishing rather than traditional book publishing. The company focuses on rapid validation, automated asset production, performance marketing, and multivariate testing to determine winning books, creatives, and audiences at scale.


The long-term objective is a predictive publishing infrastructure that continuously improves book–reader matching, author acquisition economics, and catalogue performance through automation, applied AI, and experimentation loops. We already operate the marketing, growth, and demand-generation side of the business. The missing piece is technical leadership capable of turning validated workflows into a durable, scalable platform.

Current Position

An MVP is live, authors are using the system, and revenue has begun to validate the commercial direction. The next phase is to industrialise the stack: automation pipelines, asset generation systems, experimentation infrastructure, and the underlying data architecture that powers both author growth and reader acquisition.

The Role

We are looking for a technical co-founder who will take ownership of the technical architecture of Get Lost and lead the buildout of the company’s automation-first publishing stack.


The role combines hands-on engineering with long-term system design. Near-term work centres on automating top-of-funnel author analysis, asset generation, and campaign infrastructure. Longer-term work expands into multivariate testing systems, predictive modelling, and experimentation infrastructure that determines which manuscripts, creatives, and campaigns scale.


This role is best suited to someone who has built or operated live-service systems, growth infrastructure, marketplaces, or experimentation-heavy consumer platforms, and who is comfortable moving from rapid execution to deeper platform design over time.

Core Responsibilities
* Own the technical architecture of the Get Lost platform across workflows, automation pipelines, and multivariate testing systems.
* Lead development of the automation layers that convert manuscripts into scalable campaigns.
* Design and implement the data infrastructure that supports testing, attribution, and performance campaigns.
* Build and evolve the creator-facing and internal tooling portal used by authors, marketers, and operators.
* Work closely with the founding team to translate commercial testing strategies into technical systems that scale repeatably.
* Recruit and shape the early engineering function once funding is secured.
What We’re Looking For
* Founder-level ownership mentality.
* Experience in platform development with a Live Ops mindset.
* Comfortable designing systems that emphasise rapid experimentation and testing over monolithic software projects.
* Comfortable with the ambiguity and the lack of structure of early-stage companies
* Clear interest in applied AI and automation as infrastructure rather than as surface-level features.


Technical Environment
* Modern JS frameworks for portal and internal tooling layers
* Automation and orchestration frameworks (e.g. workflow automation, event-driven pipelines)
* API-first integrations across publishing, analytics, and advertising systems
* Data pipelines supporting attribution, testing, and segmentation
* Applied LLM workflows embedded in production pipelines
Equity and Founder Position

This is a founding technical role with meaningful equity participation. Compensation reflects significant ownership and long-term company creation rather than early-stage salary optimisation. A formal CTO role is expected as the company scales and funding is secured.

Why This Role Exists

Publishing is structurally under-optimised compared to adjacent industries such as mobile gaming, performance commerce, and digital media. Get Lost is importing the experimentation, automation, and predictive infrastructure that transformed those sectors. The commercial side of the engine is already in motion; the next phase is building the technical core that allows the model to compound.
