Job Title: Civils Planner
Location: Scotland Wide – Role and location based on Planner skill‑set and home location, although some roles may require working away from home.

What you’ll be doing – Project Based
* Ensuring that the Contract Programme is produced, managed and maintained in accordance with the Contract Requirements.
* Preparing monthly progress updates and communicating the revised Contract Programme including monthly progress reporting.
* Establishing and agreeing with the Operations Team, key methods of construction, sequencing and programme logic.
* Developing Stage Programmes and supporting information in accordance with the project requirements and issuing to all parties for review.
* Implement recommendations, innovation and best practice as applicable.
* Reconciling direct and subcontract plant & labour along with major materials and supporting Project Controls.
* Assist the Project Team to deliver projects timely and improve productivity, performance and safety.
What you’ll be doing – Win Business Based
* Work with the Planning Lead & Bid Manager to provide the planning function for a wide range of civils tenders throughout the project planning life cycle.
* Identifying scope, constraints, risk and contract requirements.
* Establishing and agreeing key methods of construction, temporary works requirements, sequencing and programme logic.
* Interfacing with third parties and supply chain to develop proposals.
* Identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme.
* Establishing and agreeing construction outputs and working hours with appropriate Estimator.
* Review and implement recommendations, innovation and best practice as applicable.
* Communicate the plan to senior management at Tender Settlement Meetings.
* Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including tender programmes, planning philosophy, presentations and reports.
* Support the Project Based planning requirements on live projects.
Who We’re Looking For
* Operational experience (typically section engineer to site agent) and previous significant planning services experience in small to medium sized construction projects.
* Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
* Proficiency in planning techniques and planning toolsets.
* Experience using planning software such as Primavera P6, Elecosoft Asta and/or Microsoft Project.
* Understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring.
* Understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning programming.
* Understanding of the events that initiate, and methods used to demonstrate, delay or change entitlement.
* Good understanding of various forms of tender & contract documents, preferably with some NEC4 experience.
* Effective communication, engagement, motivation & leadership skills to drive change and positively impact the business.
Qualifications
* Degree, HND or relevant experience‑based skills.
* Relevant CSCS Card.
* Team player.
