About The Role
Paragon Home Healthcare is seeking a day carer to support a young gentleman with a spinal cord injury, following discharge from specialist rehabilitation. This placement focuses on supporting rehabilitation goals, building independence, and maintaining a structured daily routine in the client’s own home, during the initial transition period from hospital to home.
Location: E20 – excellent transport links, close to local amenities.
Client personality: Intelligent, motivated, focused on regaining independence; values routine and calm, encouraging support.
Daily Support
* Personal care, bowel and bladder routines, mobility support, rehabilitation exercises, meal preparation, and household tasks.

Rota & Pay
* Day shift position
* Shift times: 8am – 8pm
* Pay rates: Weekdays £15.29 per hour; Weekends £18.35 per hour.
Training & Support
Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full paid training before starting, plus support to get familiar with the care routine. No prior spinal cord injury experience required – just warmth, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
* Observe and record the client’s health status.
* Assist with activities of daily living.
* Maintain a safe and clean living environment.
* Ensure confidentiality.
* Support medication routines (client self-administers).
* Arrange transportation for appointments when needed.
* Support daily rehabilitation exercises as directed by therapy teams.
* Assist with washing, dressing, showering, and personal care.
* Assist with safe transfers and wheelchair-based mobility.
* Prepare balanced meals to support recovery and wellbeing.
* Encourage independence and follow a calm, structured routine.
* Observe and record wellbeing and ensure safety.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, well‑organised home.
