Overview

We are looking for dedicated Waking Night Residential Childcare Workers to join our caring, experienced team in Formby. About us: Family Care are a family-owned social care provider working therapeutically with children for over 30 years, committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child and young person can thrive.
Responsibilities
* As a Waking Night RCW, you will play a key role in ensuring the overnight safety and well-being of the children in our care.
* Work as part of a therapeutic team to maintain a calm and secure environment where young people can feel protected and respected, even while they sleep.
* Remain awake and vigilant for the duration of your shift to safeguard young people throughout the night.
* Undertake domestic duties identified on the daily handover and communicated by the Team Leader at the start of your shift (e.g., cooking and cleaning).
* Maintain a log of events during the shift and prepare handover notes for morning staff.
* Deliver personal care as guided by the young person’s care plan.
* Be responsible for the security of the building during your shift.
* Participate in training as directed by your line manager and, if applicable, complete a diploma in line with Children’s Home Regulations 2015.
What we are looking for / Qualifications
* Ideally have previous Residential Childcare experience.
* Experience with learning disabilities or mental health support for adults & children is desirable.
* Waking Night shifts (152 hours per month) on a night shift/rota basis.
* An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment.
