An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client, for a remote based Accountant / Governance Specialist.
Are you a qualified or part qualified Accountant from an Accountancy Practice background looking for a move into industry, or do you come from a Practice and Industry mixed background?
Do you enjoy the technical side of accounting — company law, statutory compliance, group structures, governance — more than pure number-crunching?

The Opportunity:
We’re partnering with an innovative, growing Fintech company that is reshaping its sector through automation, data, and smart technology. As part of their next phase of growth, they’re looking to hire a Governance Specialist — a newly created role ideal for someone coming straight from practice.
This is not a typical finance role. Instead, you’ll sit at the heart of the organisation’s corporate governance and legal structure, working closely with Finance, Legal, and Senior Leadership.
It’s a brilliant chance for a practice-trained accountant to pivot into a strategic, value-adding industry role with long-term progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing statutory accounts, filings, and compliance across multiple entities / multiple clients
* Maintaining company records, registers, and core governance frameworks
* Advising on company structures, group changes, acquisitions, and reorganisations
* Supporting the Board and legal team on corporate governance, Companies Act compliance, and risk
* Ensuring the right controls, documentation, and processes are in place for scale
* Acting as a subject matter expert on company law, accounting standards, and regulatory changes
* Working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Ops, and external advisers
What We’re Looking For
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified (or finalist)
* Background in Accountancy Practice
* Strong understanding of statutory accounting, filings, and company law
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple entities
* Someone who enjoys the technical side of accounting (not just month-end)
* Ambition to move into industry and grow with a scaling tech business
* Experience with group structures, restructuring, or governance work is highly desirable.
