We’re a forward-thinking and flexible organisation that trusts our people to deliver great results — in the way that works best for our customers and for their own work-life balance. We’re now looking for an Assurance Officer (Governance) to join our team — someone who thrives on detail, loves improving processes, and takes pride in supporting strong governance and assurance across the organisation. In this role, you’ll: * Support the delivery of the internal audit plan, liaising with auditors and coordinating follow-up actions. * Lead a programme of 2nd line assurance reviews, ensuring timely progress reporting to senior management, the Audit and Risk Committee, and the Board. * Take ownership of insurance management, from renewals and claims handling to broker liaison. * Promote strong Data Protection compliance across GCH, coordinating subject access requests and ensuring organisational risks are minimised. * Keep colleagues informed with clear and engaging communication about governance activities and sector updates. What we’re looking for You’ll bring both expertise and enthusiasm to the role, along with: * Evidence of Continuous Professional Development. * Experience writing clear, insightful reports for Executive Teams and Boards. * Strong knowledge of Data Protection and Compliance requirements. * Experience within social housing regulation or a similar regulated environment. * Solid understanding of insurance management, including claims and renewals. * Excellent communication and influencing skills — you can engage, persuade, and build trust at every level. Why join GCH? We’re not just another housing organisation — we’re a team that genuinely values flexibility, wellbeing, and personal growth. Here, you’ll be empowered to make an impact, supported by a culture that believes in balance, trust, and purpose. Enjoy every other Monday off, hybrid working, and a role that really matters.
