Overview
Applicants should demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in General Radiology. Development of subspecialty areas of interest in addition to core skills is encouraged and the successful candidate is expected to participate in the development of Radiology services. The Radiology Departments are actively involved in teaching with four radiology trainees on rotation from HEKSS deanery. Audit and other continuing professional developmental activities are positively encouraged.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to General Radiology practice and participate in teaching and training of radiology trainees (HEKSS deanery).
* Develop subspecialty interests in addition to core radiology skills and participate in the development of Radiology services.
* Assist in quality assurance: the consultant team checks scans the following day to ensure quality and provide education on a 1 in 8 rota.
* Provide daytime cover for a Malignant cord compression MRI at weekends on the same 1 in 8 rota.
* First line on call is provided by SpR or staff grade radiologists until 10pm weekdays and 5pm weekends; on call is outsourced to a reporting company overnight.
* Engage in audit and continuing professional development activities.
