Description About the Team The Fundraising and Engagement Unit ensures a strategic and coordinated approach to our internal and external representation and enables the organisation to meet our strategic objectives through strategy development, advocacy, brand positioning, fundraising and stakeholder relationships. As part of the Fundraising and Engagement Unit the Prevention team delivers our comprehensive strategies aimed at reducing the impact of cancer. These include strategies to reduce the risk of cancer occurring, population screening to detect cancer and pre-cancerous lesions as early as possible, advocacy and public policy. About the Role The SA Comprehensive Cancer Network (SACCaN), led by the Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health (CEIH), will bring together South Australia’s leading cancer researchers, public health experts, clinicians, patients, carers and technology as well as promoting the best prevention programs, in a coordinated network. This role will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to drive Cancer Council SA’s prevention pillar for the SACCaN, in line with the program workplan and organisational objectives. The role will work closely with funding partner, CEIH, and CCSA’s Prevention Programs Manager and broader prevention team as well as the SACCaN, to deliver a suite of initiatives focussing on cancer prevention, screening and early detection. Key responsibilities include: Applying health promotion/public health knowledge to lead the development of cancer prevention and screening initiatives in line with the SACCaN workplan and annual business plans Drive quality project management documentation, including scoping papers, stakeholder engagement plans, project plans, budgets and reporting Foster strategic partnerships across sectors to enhance program development and implementation, including with primary and secondary health, ACCHOs and community Support the growth and development of a high performing team Skills And Experiences About You At least 5 years of demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and evaluating health programs, particularly relating to cancer prevention or screening Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including mentoring and/or supporting a high performing team Strong understanding of evidence-based approaches to public health, behaviour change, and stakeholder engagement Experience working with diverse communities, particularly First Nations and CALD including implementing co-design approaches Experience and confidence in building and managing partnerships across sectors Excellent communication and public speaking/presenting skills The role is a new position, made possible through a 3-year funding agreement with Commission on Excellence and Innovation in Health. It is being offered as a full-time role, until June 2029.
