Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Leicester
Salary: £40,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Role Summary:
An experienced and hands-on Production Manager is required to lead and coordinate daily operations within a busy metal fabrication and welding environment. The successful candidate will ensure that production runs smoothly, safely, and to the highest quality standards, while motivating teams and driving improvements in processes, output, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of fabricators and welders to meet production, quality, and delivery targets.
* Oversee fabrication and welding operations, ensuring adherence to specifications, tolerances, and safety standards.
* Plan and schedule workloads to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
* Monitor key production metrics including output, quality, rework, and waste.
* Implement and maintain best practices in fabrication processes, welding techniques, and workshop organization.
* Drive continuous improvement through lean principles and hands-on leadership.
* Work closely with quality control to resolve any issues quickly and effectively.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of shop floor staff.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Strong background in metal fabrication and welding (MIG/TIG, stainless steel, mild steel, etc.).
* Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a fabrication or welding environment.
* Solid understanding of fabrication drawings, welding standards, and quality inspection processes.
* Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
* Experience implementing lean manufacturing, 5S, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
* NEBOSH/IOSH qualification or a strong understanding of H&S in a manufacturing setting.
Working Hours:
Full-time, Monday to Friday (some flexibility may be required depending on production needs)
Salary:
£40,000 – £42,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus benefits.
