Job Description
Principal Environmental Health Officer - Ebley Mill - Stroud
Reference: REQ0187
Stroud District Council is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, fully qualified Environmental Health Officer registered with EHRB to join the Environmental Health Service. If you have experience in private sector housing enforcement and disabled facilities grants, you could be the ideal candidate for our busy Private Sector Housing Team.
We are looking for an experienced officer capable of managing a varied workload, including private sector housing enforcement, licensing and enforcement for houses in multiple occupation, grant and loan applications, and addressing public health complaints. You will lead investigations and, where appropriate, issue enforcement notices, civil penalties, or legal proceedings. Creativity and initiative are highly valued in tackling these challenges.
The role requires a good team player with attention to detail, capable of collaborating and mentoring less experienced team members. With upcoming challenges from the Renter Rights Act, your experience will help ensure the service is well-prepared.
For an informal discussion, contact Rachael Locke, Private Sector Housing Manager, at 01453 754457 or rachael.locke@stroud.gov.uk. Interviews will be held on Friday, 29th August.
We offer a sector-leading range of staff benefits, including a competitive salary, excellent pension scheme, flexi working, hybrid working approach, and employee wellbeing initiatives. For more details, please visit: https://www.stroud.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers/benefits-of-working-for-us.
