As a Construction Manager your role will include but not limited to the following; Develop, Manage and Support your team to Plan Work Build and maintain a motivated project/site teams, including Project Managers for delivery of key elements of scope Understand and communicate clients scope to site teams to ensure objectives are met, whilst identifying elements which are beyond contract scope and are potential compensation events. Liaise with site management teams to ensure effective utilisation of plant and labour on site. Monitor plant and labour use against Forecast Plan. Ensure site management teams produce accurate weekly and monthly site returns in a timely manner. Monitor the morale & motivation of the team. Communicate the company objectives & maintain regular information sharing relevant to the team Support commercial team to prepare enquires and procure subcontract packages. Manage subcontract packages, in accordance with the project procedures to deliver specific construction activities as directed by the Construction Manager Build effective relationships with the supply chain. Support other members of the joint venture project team including Health Safety Wellbeing Manager, Civil Design Project Manager, MEICA Design Project Manager, Project Control Manager, Environmental Manager, Quality Manager, Commercial Manager, Documents Controller, and Public Liaison Manager Promote a culture of Collaboration, integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice. ? Plan Work Review the buildability of designs as they are developed from concept, through outline, to detailed design, to ensure they can be constructed safely, compliant with environmental requirements within programme, within budget, and to a high quality standard that meets scope requirements. Develop and review construction methodologies to effectively plan, programme, and procure resources, for delivery. Work with the planning permission team to produce construction related documents to discharge planning conditions for phases of work. Ensure construction methodologies comply with environmental and archaeological constraints and considerations whilst identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement. Lead integration of Civils and Earthworks scopes on site looking for opportunities to utilise the skills within our joint venture partnership. Co-ordinate construction interfaces with main Pipeline contractor. Produce a commercial forecast for Civils scope of works in conjunction with the commercial team. ? Deliver Work Lead liaison with Jones Bros in regards to all on-site activities Monitor & support the delivery team to ensure effective implementation of quality assurance systems for construction. Work closely with the joint venture Health and Safety Manager to ensure high standards of site safety are maintained. Promote use of IPCs. Ensure all HSE (Health and Safety Executive) legislation and rules are followed, and ensure site teams comply with company health and safety procedures on site. Ensure site operations comply with environmental legislation and constraints identified on the project. Observe best practice on matters such as pollution control and waste management and preservation of ecology. Identify opportunities for enhancement whilst observing project scope. Ensure project managers produce and maintain detailed construction programmes for elements of work. Provide information to enable the project programmer to update the master project programme on a regular basis Provide information on progress to enable the project controller to update the monthly earned value report. Ensure site costs are booked to the relevant earned value cost code. Monitor resource (staff, plant, labour) usage during construction against forecast usage and update forecast accordingly. Review and update commercial forecast for Civils scope with commercial team at least monthly, providing updates on staff, plant, labour, subcontract, and material costs. Highlight areas of risk and opportunity during monthly commercial forecast reviews with head office. Identity Early Warnings and ensure prompt notification to the client. Assist the commercial team in the drafting of Compensation Events and support in the production of quotations and change programmes. ? ? Client Relationships Develop effective relationships with the client and the client representatives especially during sites visits Main point of contact for client updates of construction activities as directed and agreed with the Construction Manager. Raise early warnings and attend risk reduction meetings to discuss the best way to mitigate potential delays and increased costs. Assist in the production of monthly progress reports for client ? ?
