We are looking for
a dynamic Band 6 Nurse to join an established Viral Hepatitis team to support delivery of the Emergency Department Blood Bourne Virus (BBV) Opt out Testing within UHBW. The pilot has been running for the last 12 months and will be extending into Weston General Hospital SDEC Unit in December 2025.
The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the project CNS and project navigator.
The post holder will be trained and supported to disclose new diagnosis and link patients into outpatient clinics for ongoing care within UHBW for viral Hepatitis (B and C).
Encourage re-engagement of patients identified through the project previously known to either the UHBW or NBT teams.
Patient education on prevention and management of BBVs and general liver health as appropriate.
Liaising with relevant community support agencies to support patient engagement ( Drug and alcohol treatment teams, mental health teams, peer support teams).
Provide follow-up clinics with support.
