Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
* Deliver daily reports to the Operations Sort Manager
* Deputise for the Operations Sort Manager when needed
* Plan and organise daily sort activity to ensure smooth running
* Liaise with other departments to deliver safe, timely operations
* Complete comprehensive handovers with the incoming shift
People Leadership
* Provide clear, motivational daily briefings
* Guide and support team members to ensure high-quality performance
* Manage attendance, performance, and conflict confidently and respectfully
* Conduct investigations (H&S, disciplinary, grievance) professionally
* Deliver quarterly Check‑Ins and support team member development
* Work collaboratively as part of the wider supervisory team

* Understand and manage risks within your area of responsibility
* Ensure all duties are completed safely and in line with policy
Continuous Improvement
* Set expectations, monitor performance, and deliver Performance Dialogues

What You’ll Bring
* Excellent communication skills with managers, peers, and stakeholders
* Confidence to use initiative and make sound operational decisions
* Ability to enforce quality standards and deadlines
* Strong teamwork skills, including working across lines of authority
* Solid understanding of operational equipment and Sort processes
* Strong leadership skills
* Good computer literacy
* Knowledge of aircraft types and ULD capacities (Beneficial)
