A vacancy has arisen for a Wing Commander (Any Profession) to serve as Chief of Staff, 90 Signals Unit (90SU) at RAF Leeming on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 04 January 2027. Responsibilities : Lead 90SU’s operational enablement functions including operations planning, training, logistics, safety and assurance. Lead 90SU’s security and resilience functions. This includes governance, planning and exercising to deliver both a robust security posture and an effective business continuity regime, ensuring the Unit is prepared to respond and recover from any unforeseen disruption. Coordinate 90SU’s financial forecasting, budgeting, commercial activity and broader business management outputs. This includes compiling the Unit’s business plan and delivering within control total. Direct and oversee administration of 90SU’s Civil Service workforce. Lead quarterly governance meetings and reporting. This includes developing and establishing risk and performance thresholds against 90SU’s RAF Command Plan tasks and delivering integrated reporting into HHQ. Lead parenting engagement with RAF Leeming to ensure optimised delivery of critical support functions. Coordinate 90SU’s response to all Individual Augmentee, Force Sense and Force Generation requests. Fulfil the role of principal authority for approving and overseeing external visit and engagement requests into 90SU. Fulfil the role of 90SU Senior Information Officer including establishing and governing the Unit’s Information Management policy and processes. Represent Commander 90SU’s ambition and intent at meetings and forums.
