Local Plan Support Officer
Initial salary between £27423 and £34944 per annum (plus cost of living increase)
Fixed Term Contract through to June 2029.
Based at Kings Court Council Offices, Kings Lynn
We are looking for an organised and motivated Local Plan Support Officer to play a key role in shaping the future of the borough. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the Council’s emerging Local Plan, helping to manage its delivery through the new national plan-making system. Working closely with planning officers, senior managers, Members and external stakeholders, you will ensure the Local Plan progresses efficiently, transparently and in line with statutory requirements.
In this pivotal role, you will provide effective project management and coordination across a range of Local Plan workstreams. This will include developing and maintaining project programmes, tracking milestones and risks, coordinating meetings, and preparing clear reports and updates. You will also manage project documentation, support stakeholder engagement, assist with research and evidence gathering, and help drive service improvement by identifying better ways of working.
Educated to A level or equivalent, you will have experience in a project, planning or multidisciplinary office environment. You will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and confidence in managing multiple priorities. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and SharePoint, is essential, along with experience of maintaining accurate records and working with data. You will be a proactive self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and audiences.
