The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting Data Technicians and Technical Support resources to deliver high-quality, consistent, and repeatable desktop investigation, data analysis, and data correction for Scottish Power Energy Networks.
This work is part of the Network Data Improvement Programme (NDIP). The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work well both independently and as part of a team, and capable of adhering to strict deadlines.
Role Specific Duties:
1. Using defined requirements within the stage gate framework, become the subject matter expert for assigned workstreams, leading and defining project documentation with support from technical support teams.
2. Lead in assigning tasks to technical support resources related to setting up pre/post production desktop data investigation, analysis, and correction work packages, ensuring timely delivery as set by the Project Manager.
3. Manage performance levels of data technicians related to workstreams/work packages, in conjunction with Technical Support resources, to ensure timely delivery.
4. Perform data investigation and analysis of asset data, drawing valid inferences to suggest business rules. Seek authorization and acceptance by presenting outputs to management and SPEN asset data experts using appropriate tools and formats.
5. Prepare and format working spreadsheets for completion by the project Production and Quality Assurance teams, as part of the stage gate process.
6. Support the project manager in tracking progress by maintaining a fit-for-purpose, auditable, and current view throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Highlight risks and issues of assigned workstreams to the Project Manager.
8. Seek technical guidance for task delivery from the Project Analyst, with line management from the Project Manager.
9. Work in line with agreed project process flows to enable timely authorization of project workstream documentation.
10. Support the Project Manager in maintaining cross-business relationships with stakeholders through meetings and forums.
11. Produce and deliver training documentation and conduct group training related to assigned workstreams.
12. Assist the Project Manager in providing information for delivery planning regarding timescales and resource requirements.
13. Interface with other staff to promote efficient work management, consistency, and adherence to standards, procedures, and processes to foster a culture of completion.
14. Ensure the provision of adequate and timely MI reporting and production, including additional requests from the Project Manager.
15. Perform other project-related duties as required by the Project Manager and Portfolio Manager.
Key skills for the role include:
* Proficiency with GIS software
* Experience working with data from asset management systems, ideally SAP
* Experience with Python

* Answering queries on Workstreams
* Working with large data sets
* Preparing documentation for Workstream Stage Gate sign-off
* Assisting with the creation of business rules and process flows
