Birmingham City Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist to be employed in the Central Mortuary in Birmingham City Centre. The mortuary provides post mortem services for the Birmingham and Solihull Coroner Area covering a population of 1.3 million people with 1,800 post mortems conducted annually.
Interviews: week commencing 3rd November 2025
Responsibilities
* Participate in an out of office hours on call rota including weekends and bank holidays for which additional remuneration is payable.
Qualifications
* Qualified Anatomical Pathology Technologist with the RSPH Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technician or RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology.
* Willing to undertake the RSPH Level 4 Diploma following induction and gaining relevant experience after appointment.
Employment details
* Permanent
* Grade 4 - £34,434 - £41,771
* Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review
* Working 36.5 hours per week
