Overview
Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – Contract: Full-Time | Temp to Perm. Role in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. You will support children and young people with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in a safe, inclusive environment.
This role offers the opportunity to help every child reach their potential.
Responsibilities
* Support students with SLD and PMLD daily, providing academic and emotional guidance
* Assist with personalised learning programmes set by the teacher or SENCO
* Use Makaton, PECS, and visual aids to support communication and learning
* Encourage independence and self-confidence in every child
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to promote holistic progress
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as an SEN TA or Learning Support Assistant (desirable, but training available)
* A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to SEN support
* Strong teamwork skills and initiative
* Passion for making a positive difference to children with additional needs
* Right to work in the UK (essential)
