About The Role
We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Depot Supervisor to help lead our logistics team and ensure the smooth running of daily operations. You will be responsible for ensuring that our delivery and installation runs are prepped to go out each morning and supported via tracking any issues which may arise throughout the day.
A hands-on approach is required to support our self-loading depot and you will ensure that all our vehicles are road worthy, legal and compliant whilst providing on-going support to our Drivers, Quality and People teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader ready to take the next step in their career and play a key role in a growing and dynamic business.
1. Salary: Between £29,000.00 and £31,500.00 per annum
2. Hours: 5 on 3 off, 5 on 2 off (40 hours per week)
3. Start and finish time: 4am- 1pm or 1pm- 10pm
4. Job Type: Full time and permanent contract
5. Location: Chittening Industrial Estate, Greensplott Road, Avonmouth, BS11 0YB
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
6. Check that all vehicles leaving the depot are secure and meet required transport legislation requirements
7. Monitor delivery performance throughout the day
8. Support training for new starters to include Safe Systems of Work and Health and Safety
9. Briefing team daily/weekly on key priorities and workload
10. Supervising the team and allocating tasks and priorities
11. Complete alcohol testing when required
12. Complete minor repairs to vehicles and arrange servicing as required
13. Communicate with our Drivers, handling any queries efficiently and in a professional manner
14. Take responsibility for managing the transhipping and reloads
15. Complete in-house reports on a daily basis
A Few Things About You
16. Understand transport legislation and logistics operation
17. Able to build good relationships with people even when under pressure
18. Challenge any vehicle issues or damages with our Drivers
19. Able to make decisions in the absence of the Depot Manager to drive performance and service
20. React quickly to information and be able to solve problems independently
21. Good communication skills both verbally and written
22. Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
