Job Description – MOT Tester
We are seeking a qualified and experienced MOT Tester to join our busy and growing garage. The ideal candidate will be professional, reliable, and able to work to high standards, with proven experience in MOT testing and a wide range of general vehicle maintenance.
Responsibilities
Carry out MOT tests in line with DVSA standards (Class 4 and Class 7)
Complete MOT documentation and maintain accurate compliance records
Have the option of supporting the workshop with smaller mechanical jobs (30 mins – 2 hrs), including:
* Brake pads, discs, springs, and calipers
* Interim services and routine maintenance
* Car diagnostics and fault-finding
* Tyre fitting and balancing
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
Provide clear, professional advice to customers when required
Qualifications/Skills
Level 2 qualification in MOT Testing (DVSA approved)
Minimum 2 years' experience with both Class 4 and Class 7 MOTs
Minimum 5 years' experience in a garage environment
Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability
Dynamic and adaptable, with willingness to take on varied jobs
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Requirements
Must provide references from previous garage/workshop roles
Full UK driving licence preferred
Hours & Pay
35 to 40 hours per week
Monday to Saturday
Pay: £12.21 – £20 per hour (depending on experience)
