Key Responsibilities Delivering engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum in line with the National Curriculum Assessing pupil progress regularly and adapting teaching to meet individual needs Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development Working collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and school leaders Communicating effectively with parents and carers about pupils’ progress and achievements Participating in staff meetings, CPD, and school-wide initiatives You will play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for the transition into Year 6 while fostering independence, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning. Who We’re Looking For We are seeking a teacher who: Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Has experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum areas Can differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and higher-attaining learners Is organised, adaptable, and reflective in their practice Works collaboratively within a professional and supportive team Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wellbeing of all pupils Early Career Teachers with a passion for upper Key Stage 2 teaching are encouraged to apply.
