Watkins is a family owned Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractor located in the South East, the company has now been trading over 60 years. We are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Finance Administrator to support our busy finance team on a full-time basis. The role is site based in our head office in Ramsgate, Kent.
The Commercial Finance Administrator provides essential support to the Commercial Finance team through administrative and transactional tasks. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in finance with a strong focus on accuracy, organisation, and willingness to learn. The postholder will assist with timesheets, invoicing, data entry, and document control while developing their understanding of financial processes in a commercial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Administration:
* Assist with processing timesheets and data entry for agency and direct labour
* Manage agency processing and freelance operative administration
* Support invoice reconciliation for agency payments
* Support invoicing activities, ensuring accuracy and timely submission
* Invoicing clients and issuing customer account statements
* Support credit control and debt collection processes
* Resolve invoice queries promptly and accurately
* Process scrap invoices as required
* Help prepare and process applications for payment
Project & Costing Support:
* Input data into project costing spreadsheets
* Support basic reconciliation and reporting tasks
* Learn how to track project-level costs and assist with financial reporting under guidance
Team & Operational Support:
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Commercial Finance Assistant
* File, organise and archive financial documentation in accordance with company standards
* General filing and document control
* Liaise with internal teams and external contacts to gather and verify financial data
* Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with financial governance procedures
