Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Location: Crookhey Hall School, Lancaster, LA2 0HA
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, 4‑day week option available after probation)
Salary: up to £53,200 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday to Friday); 4‑days‑a‑week with full pay upon successful completion of probation.
Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergent, or socio‑emotional and mental‑health (SEMH) needs.
* Work within the professional standards set out in the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and maintain clear roles and responsibilities aligned with governing and professional bodies.
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload, supported by a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
* Contribute to staff training and multidisciplinary consultation as required.
* Collaborate closely with the education team to support pupils’ independence, wellbeing and educational attainment.
* Maintain safeguarding culture and record keeping in line with statutory and professional requirements.
Qualifications
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree.
* Valid and up‑to‑date HCPC registration.
* Registered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
* Relevant experience providing OT services in a similar educational setting.
* Experience working with neurodivergent pupils and those with learning difficulties, socio‑emotional and mental health challenges.
* Sound knowledge and clinical application of OT theory to support independence.
* Experience of multi‑professional collaboration within the relevant speciality.
* Ability to work independently, flexibly and confidently.
* Clear and concise report writing skills.
* Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory‑informed practice (SI practitioner training in progress or completed is preferable).
